Cetim France

CETIM, Technical Centre for Mechanical Industry was created in 1965, upon request from mechanical industry companies in order to provide companies with means and competences to improve their competitiveness, take part in standardisation, establish a relationship between scientific research and industry, promote technical progress, provide assistance to improve performance and guarantee quality.

Cetim France
Cetim’s main services include:
  • Advice and support
  • Design and simulation
  • Tests on products and processes
  • Control and Measurement
  • Failure analysis
Since 2007, the Cetim has launched a program to test the potential of robots in industrial manufacturing. By partnerships with manufacturers, they developed a technical leading device with a Stäubli RX 170 hsm robot, equipped with a precision cutter, capable to machining at high speed (17kW and 42000 r/min). This device is incorporated in a cell designed and built by Segula-Technologies.

Cetim is turning towards technological and organisational research programmes, in a more and more open context at European and international levels. The most significant points of this evolution concern, in particular:

  • the renewal of sectorial and multi-sectorial actions through mergers bringing a significant importance;
  • stronger specialisation of competences around large federating projects in order to acquire visibility at European level;
  • a stronger innovating approach by promoting co-development, more particularly with small companies;
  • continuation of the networking at regional level in order the actions to be performed within the framework of competitive clusters;
  • a more interactive communication action changing from the distribution of information to on-line exchange;
  • international development of the services through an engineering offer in cooperation with the French mechanics companies.

Cetim has been Institut Carnot approved since 2006.

Customer Case study

The Cetim has signed a partnership agreement with a German company I-Con in the field of Eco-design. I-Con is a consultancy company who participates in R&D projects especially around the optimization of use of resources and materials. The partnership agreement with Cetim was concluded in the framework of the European remake program, which aims to fund projects of eco-innovative SMEs, on reducing the environmental impact of products or manufacturing processes.
QuintMark-Network will interview both companies in France and Germany in order to write a case study and press release. In the near future these interviews will be repeated to acquire experiences on the longer term.

Press releases

At the occasion of the Hannover fair (Germany) on 4 to 8 April 2011, the Cetim conducted demonstrations of industrial robots. QuintMark has been asked to develop a press release to be distributed before the event to the industrial press in Germany.
